Missing.

the fall.

i had a couple of days off- and it was everything i hoped it could be. we went to chicago, and i spent too much money. also, my GFF got some ink done on her arm. it looks awesome and i'm jealous.

work has me bummed lately, i want something else. something where i don't have to deal with lazy old people who don't give a fuck about computers or the fact that i have a lot of other stuff going on and that i'd rather eat my own eyeballs than to hold their hand and place their order.

my podcasting setup is pretty official at this point- and i hope to be recording this sunday with some friends. any other plans may be kind of up in the air-since Heather's car is in the shop. luckily i live near a co-worker, otherwise i'd be SOL. i think about how if i was in pdx, this would be a non-issue. sigh.

hopefully, i can sweet talk carl into picking me up from work tomorrow. i'm editing an old podcast that i recorded with some guys quite a while ago. i was plastered, and i don't remember saying any of this stuff i'm hearing right now. wow.

because i like making lists, and music.

2004 up until now...

The last five years feel like twenty years. in the (mostly) best and (sort of) worst ways possible.

here is the latest [heavily edited for time]

- i stopped drinking as much, so that i can play more video games.
- i've been staying out later, which gets me in a lot of trouble.
- i miss people, a lot.
- i thought about my cat on Saturday morning, and felt the saddest i've been all year.
- i will be tailgating on saturday for the first time ever.
- i am thinking of actually practicing the bass during the week, even learning some more things to practice.

an update. sort of.

i don't know what to put here, most of the time. it's like one more thing i'd like to do if i had more time. until i get paid to do it, i'm going to be the worst blogger ever. check out my friend's blog's's's's's's'. those blogs have a lot going for them. i think i'm going to go outside and take pictures.

his name was Jason.

i've been into horror movies since i was probably six or seven years old. i've seen a lot of them, but the ones i always liked the most were friday the 13th parts I, II, and III. Pieces, Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Prom Night, Halloween, Toolbox Murders, Microwave Murders, Slumber Party Massacre, Chopping Mall, Creepshow, Night Of The Creeps, Basket Case... basically any movie my mom and her friends would rent, i was in to. with a few exceptions.

Ghoulies. I hated Ghoulies, and i still haven't seen it. they come out of the toilet. forget it. i never saw Evil Dead as a kid... i don't even remember watching this when i was young, but my mom hated it- and still hates it. ask her about it sometime. "it's evil and i don't want it in my house." i eventually saw it though, and even watching it on USA freaked me out a little.

i never stopped watching them, although they stop being interesting after awhile. friday the 13th, nightmare on elm street weren't coming out anymore... Wes Craven started making the Scream movies, which i still don't really like. they're not terrible by any means but i don't own any of them.

this wonderful thing happened when New Line Cinema acquired the rights to the Jason Voorhees character and started making new Jason movies. Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X, and then Freddy Vs. Jason. they all had awesome kills, but not quite the feeling of the old school Friday The 13th movies. Ronny Yu was the director of FvJ, and had never seen a Friday The 13th movie. he basically made a Nightmare On Elm street movie that happened to have Jason in it. whatever, i'm a huge fan of both so i was going to take whatever i could get.

i had the awesome opportunity to attend a midnight showing of the new Friday The 13th for free! it was awesome. it was very much a Friday The 13th movie, which is not a lot like other horror movies. i think they're great, i guess i'm just biased. i used to get really bummed when people said they didn't like horror movies or any of the ones that i like. i don't take it personal anymore. the new friday the 13th made me feel like a kid again, it is so exciting seeing a movie for the first time- a movie i'd been waiting for, for so long.

jason didn't die at the end, and he'll surely be back. there is another nightmare on elm street movie in the works. i can't wait.
